Jeb Schmitt is a director with deep intellectual property experience. With more than 10 years of professional experience, Mr. Schmitt brings strong leadership and technical expertise to engagements across all areas of the firm's practice including intellectual property matters, business valuations, and damage analyses. Committed to quality and client service, Mr. Schmitt is a valued engagement leader and team member who contributes his financial expertise to all of the firm's practice areas. He handles matters related to preparation and/or critique of damage calculations for lost profits, unjust enrichment, and reasonable royalty associated with patents, trademarks, copyrights, and trade secrets. In addition, Mr. Schmitt has performed numerous valuations of intellectual property for financial reporting purposes, including performing valuations of patents, trade names, customer contracts, customer relationships, and developed technology. His IP experiences cross a variety of industries, including construction, apparel and accessories, conveyor systems, architectural drawings, pharmaceuticals, advertising, utilities, and national defense. In addition to his experience in intellectual property matters, Mr. Schmitt has considerable experience with completing business valuations, preparing damage analyses in commercial litigation, and consulting with interested parties in financial reorganizations and bankruptcy. Mr. Schmitt's experience in each of these practice areas often requires analysis of historical cash flow streams, development of financial statement projections, a thorough review of economic and industry factors, and analysis of specific demand drivers. Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Schmitt worked for several years as a financial statement auditor at international public accounting firms including Arthur Andersen LLP and Grant Thornton LLP. During that time, he served numerous clients in various industries ranging in size from small, privately held companies to SEC registered, multi-national companies. |
